The Benefits of Jade Rolling

While this little gadget might seem like a “lady tool”,  everybody should be using it and taking advantage of it’s amazing benefits!

Much like Abyhanga or an Ayurvedic self oil massage, the jade roller stimulates the circulatory system and, when used in the right direction, pushes the lymph (the liquid in your body's tissues) to the lymph nodes, encouraging a natural detoxification process. The nodes are where white blood cells destroy any bacteria picked up by the lymph as it circulates throughout the body. When a node gets clogged with bacteria, it causes inflammation. Both the increase in circulation and the stimulation of the lymphatic system encourages the brightness of our skin and helps smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.

The jade stone itself holds properties that promote healing and tranquil energy, which are an added benefit to the massage itself. If you are prone to more inflammation, or excess pitta, try keeping your jade roller in your refrigerator.

How to jade roll

Gently pat an organic face serum or oil onto your face. To keep it super simple, use almond oil or jojoba oil. For something a little more indulgent, check out Eka Yoga’s Tri-Dosha face oil. Our special blend has been specifically designed for sensitive skin. It is filled with vitamins, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.

The key is to move upward and outward:

  • Roll from nose to your temples.

  • Roll from your mouth to under your ears.

  • Roll between your brows up and out to your hairline.
