"The human voice is the most beautiful instrument of all, but it is the most difficult to play." - Richard Strauss
Aside from teaching yoga, Sarah Erter specializes in Voice and Swallowing in her clinical practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the medical field. This seminar is geared toward supporting the high occupational voicing demands associated with teaching yoga. Join Sarah for a discussion that will feature anatomy and physiology of voice production, vocal health techniques and strategies, education to recognize the signs of stress and injury on the voicing mechanism, and how to optimize occupational voice use within the context of the environmental and physical factors of studio based teaching. Additionally, through the use of laryngeal video and imaging, we will explore pranayama techniques at the level of the larynx to gain further appreciation of the anatomical and physiological considerations of these energetic practices.
