1 cup refined sea salt
4-6oz almond oil
12 drops rose oil
10 drops pink pepper oil
5 drops citrus oil (lemon, lime, grapefruit)
Combine almond oil and sea salt and then add essential oils in a large mixing bowl. Store in a sealed jar. The jar pictured here are my favorite to use, as they are easiest to dip your hand into!
How to Use:
Before using on your entire body, test a small patch on your leg or arm to ensure there is no irritation.
Do not use on your face, as it can over exfoliate the thinner skin of the face and cause irritation.
Use on dry skin for optimal benefits. Apply as you would abhyanga.
Almond Oil: Almond oil is full of Vitamin E, which protects the skin from UV radiation, keeping skin cells healthy. Vitamin E also helps your skin retain moisture (Vatas!). Almond oil also holds Vitamin A, which can help reduce acne.
Rose Oil: Rose oil is not only soothing, but it also holds antibacterial properties, suppress the growth of bacteria, and antispasmodic properties, relieves muscle tension, cramps, and spasms.
Pink Pepper Oil: Pink Pepper oil is naturally heating in nature, which helps promote healthy circulation and alertness.
Citrus Oils (lemon, lime, grapefruit): Citrus essential oils are best known for stimulating the lymphatic system and their diuretic properties, which can continue to help the body remove lymphatic waste via the urinary tract.
*Please Note:Citrus oils cause photosensitivity when applied to the skin, producing a rash with sunlight exposure. Skin treated with citrus oils should not be exposed to sunlight within 12 hours of application.
